Applying for asylum
When applying for asylum, you need to prove the eligibility and file Form I-589, the form for Application for Asylum and for Withholding of Removal. This needs to be done within one year of your arrival in the country. You can also include your spouse and minor children in the application. There is no fee for applying for asylum visa.
